Cultural vector illustrations exploring negative space and traditional Bosnian forms
These poster designs explore negative space and cultural symbolism through simplified vector forms. Drawing inspiration from my background growing up in Bosnia and Herzegovina, I used two iconic elements of Bosnian culture: the džezva (traditional coffee pot) and kilim patterns.
Both objects are deeply tied to everyday life and tradition, and they evoke strong personal memories of home. I combined these forms using a color palette inspired by traditional Bosnian kilims, emphasizing bold contrast, flat shapes, and minimal detail.
The project focuses on visual reduction—using shape, color, and negative space to communicate cultural meaning in a modern, graphic way.
