Poetry & Art is a hand-bound book project that explores the relationship between visual art and poetry through both content and physical form. The book features a curated selection of poetry alongside my own artwork, designed and assembled as a single, cohesive piece.
I designed each page with attention to composition, pacing, and balance between text and imagery. Once the layouts were finalized, I printed the pages and bound the book by hand using Japanese stab binding, allowing the binding itself to become part of the design.
Throughout the process, I explored how material choices, sequencing, and binding techniques can influence how a reader experiences content. This project reflects my interest in print, book design, and craftsmanship, as well as my appreciation for physical, tactile design in an increasingly digital space.
Below are photographs showing the finished book as well as details from the binding and assembly process.
